New York Slice Company’s Version of a Margherita Pizza

MargheritaPizzaToday, our specialty slice pie is a variation on the always popular Margherita Pizza.  As with everything, there are several different variations on the “tradition” of the Margherita Pizza, like Neapolitan or the Napoletana.  However you slice it, the margherita pizza is generally a simple and light pie with a thin crust, a light to medium helping of sauce and a thin layer or spotted distribution of cheese. Popular variations add basil leaves and fresh tomatoes to the mix. The New York Slice Company twist goes a littler further while maintaining the simplicity of the tradition.

As always, we start with our thin, hand tossed, gourmet crust. Instead of using only a red sauce, we start with a thin layer of our ricotta base and add a thin layer of red sauce on top. Next we add a light spinach garnish, flaked basil, oregano, and minced garlic. We finally top it with a thin layer of mozzarella and provolone and a drizzle of olive oil.

You can order our Margherita Pizza for dine in, carry out, or delivery. They come in 10 inch, 12 inch, and 16 inch and cost $9.95, $14.95, and $17.95 respectively.
