This Monday, June 29th, 2015 from noon until 4pm, the New York Slice Company will be selling slices of pizza for only $1.00!!!* “Why?”, you ask. We will be cooking a bunch of delicious, gourmet, New York Style pizzas so we can take pictures of them to use in our blog posts, Facebook posts, and general advertising campaigns. It would be criminal to cook all this outstanding food and not feed people, so we’re throwing a crazy Dollar-A-Slice party.
We will also be cooking up portions of our gourmet pasta dishes to get photographs of those too. So we’ll be giving out free samples of pasta* while supplies last! The pasta dishes we will cook up will be Spaghetti, Ravioli, Tortellini, Manicotti, and our new Stuffed Shells. These 5 dishes are important because every Wednesday we have our Buy 1 Get 1 Free on these pasta dinners! and each comes with a salad and garlic bread.
So, swing on by our pizza parlour this Monday, June 29th between noon and 4pm for the best New York slice at the best price. We look forward to seeing you.
And check out our New York Style Pizza Facebook Page and our New York Slice Company website.
*Some limitations may apply. Dine in and carry out only. While supplies last.
This Friday marks the beginning of the Sarasota County Fair. With it comes days and night full of mild lights designed to sooth, twirling and whirling rides meant to calm the nerves, and delectable gourmet foods that echo the bistros of France…… not really. The fair is a raucous week of seizure inducing strobe lighting, nauseating rides, and food that will likely take decades to breakdown in the landfill…… and that’s why we go.
Seriously though, the fair is a fantastic place to spend a few hours with your honey or a day with the family playing games, watching people, hitting the crazy rides (or watching your friends do it) and eating a reasonable amount of food you probably shouldn’t eat.
Once you’re done with all the fun at the fairgrounds, be sure to save your wristband and bring it in to the New York Slice Company for some special offers.
With your 2015 Sarasota County Fair admission wristband you can select 1 of the following offers:
- Buy 1 slice of pizza and get 1 for free.
- Free 2 liter of soda with purchase of a 16″ pizza
- $2 off any 16 inch pizza
- $1 off any 12 inch pizza
So go to the fair, have fun, be safe, and when you are ready for a belly full of gourmet, hand tossed New York style pizza, bring your wristband and we’ll make you some food that feels good.
As you might imagine, pizza sauce is important to us in the pizza business. This is why at New York Slice Company we pay extra to get the best: Stanislaus. Since we first tasted the Stanislaus tomato sauce in 2008 we realized that the added expense was easily justified. The quality of the ingredients that this family-owned company uses for their pizza sauce is very apparent in the flavor. All you get is a robust tomato taste. But once you read their website you understand that the quality comes from both their dedication to working hard with good intentions AND a complete understanding of the science behind preserving the best tomato flavor.
Stanislaus’ sauce is a “fresh pack” tomato sauce versus a “re-manufactured” sauce. Why is this important? This is important because the Stanislaus sauce goes through far fewer processing steps. This preserves more of the original flavor of the tomato. Pizzerias preparing pizza sauce made from tomato concentrate or using a re-manufactured processes (developed to reduce the cost of processing tomato sauce) simply don’t taste as fresh or as good.
For us, it isn’t enough to say you have the best ingredients. You have to actually do it. This is why we use the Stanislaus line of pizza products.
Today, our specialty slice pie is a variation on the always popular Margherita Pizza. As with everything, there are several different variations on the “tradition” of the Margherita Pizza, like Neapolitan or the Napoletana. However you slice it, the margherita pizza is generally a simple and light pie with a thin crust, a light to medium helping of sauce and a thin layer or spotted distribution of cheese. Popular variations add basil leaves and fresh tomatoes to the mix. The New York Slice Company twist goes a littler further while maintaining the simplicity of the tradition.
As always, we start with our thin, hand tossed, gourmet crust. Instead of using only a red sauce, we start with a thin layer of our ricotta base and add a thin layer of red sauce on top. Next we add a light spinach garnish, flaked basil, oregano, and minced garlic. We finally top it with a thin layer of mozzarella and provolone and a drizzle of olive oil.
You can order our Margherita Pizza for dine in, carry out, or delivery. They come in 10 inch, 12 inch, and 16 inch and cost $9.95, $14.95, and $17.95 respectively.
Hello Sarasota. We would like to introduce you to one of the greatest lunch deals ever…… maybe. As you may know we offer pizza by the slice. The way our slice choice works is like this. We have 3 different flavors of slice pie at any given time. We will always offer a cheese slice and a pepperoni slice. The third slice pizza is dealers choice which means that the opening pizzaiolo (pizza maker) will decide what specialty pizza he or she wants to make. Customers can choose from those 3 pizzas for a slice.
So what is the greatest lunch deal ever? Well, every day we are open you can walk in to our pizzeria (located at 501 N. Beneva Rd, Sarasota) and order 2 slices of pizza and a soda for only $4.95…. and that price includes tax. Yep, for under $5 you can get a gourmet lunch served to you typically in under 5 minutes.
On the lighter side, we offer a Garden Special. This is a lunch salad with romaine, mushrooms, onion, green peppers, black olives, and pepperoni, a slice of pizza and a drink for only $7 plus tax.
While we have been serving pizza in Sarasota for several months already, we are just getting around to starting up our blog. Well, here it is….. the New York Slice Company pizza blog. You may be asking yourself, “what would a pizzeria have to blog about?” Quite a bit actually.
As a member of the greater Sarasota community we take pride in our participation in community activities and working with other local companies and organizations. These endeavours will be chronicled here. We will take the opportunity to not only discuss our community involvement, we will promote and support the organizations that we work with and the activities that we support.
We will also use this blog as another avenue to present coupons, specials, and deals. Facebook or newsletters might not be everybody’s cup of tea. So here is another format through which our friends can get information about New York Slice Company pizza.
